Surface-mount device (SMD) light emitting diode (LED) modules provide more luminosity and require lower power consumption than traditional light bulbs.

Low Power Consumption:
Generally, the voltage per SMD LED is 2-3.6V, current 0.02A-0.03A. LED's use a constant DC voltage and current. Power consumption equals just 1/8 of an incandescent light and 1/4 of traditional light.

Long Life Span:
Under proper current and voltage condition, the life span of SMD LED can reach 100,000 hrs. Compared with the other LED tubes (like Dip LED), the optical decay is reduce from 10% to 5% in 1000hrs. Produced by Automatic equipment, via heat emitting technical process, the life span of SMD LED is longer.

Color Rendering Index (CRI):
Also known as color accuracy, CRI is a measurement of how natural the light given off by a source looks in comparison to the sun. The highest CRI is 100 (like the sun).

CRI value is typically provided for white or warm white. Most LED strip lights have a very low CRI

* Ingress Protection Rating (IP)

IP First number - Protection against solid objects.
IP Second number - Protection against liquids.

An IP65 rating is considered fully dust tight and has a waterproof rating of “water jets” which signifies protection up to “water projected by a nozzle (6.3mm) against enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects.”  In most areas, this level of protection is more than sufficient for outdoor use even through rain, splashes, etc.


6: Dust tight

No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact (dust tight). A vacuum must be applied. Test duration of up to 8 hours based on air flow.

7: Protected against: Immersion up to 1 m

Effective against: Ingress of water in harmful quantity shall not be possible when the enclosure is immersed in water under defined conditions of pressure and time (up to 1 m of submersion).

Test duration: 30 minutes
Tested with the lowest point of the enclosure 1000 mm below the surface of the water, or the highest point 150 mm below the surface, whichever is deeper.
